Santa Claus Came to Town Sunday December 17! |
 |
Eastampton Fire-Rescue had the honor of escorting Mr.
Claus through Eastampton Sunday, December 17. Santa began his
five-hour route
shortly after noon. He was escorted by fire
department apparatus which announced his
arrival in each area of town. Santa
elves distributed candy canes for children and others young at heart.
Thank you to all of the volunteers
who gave up a Sunday afternoon in this holiday season to make this annual
tradition a success! |

Fun Day 2006 Fire Prevention
Program

Firefighter Scott Mancini
demonstrates the use of a fire extinguisher for township residents
For the twelfth consecutive year,
the fire department participated in Eastampton Township's annual Fun Day. This
year's event took place on Saturday, September 23. Volunteer fire department
members from the Eastampton Emergency Squad and Eastampton Fire Company provided
first aid and fire safety information to township residents. As always, lines
were long as youngsters (and those young at heart) waited for a fire engine
ride.

On October 13, 2006, the Eastampton Fire-Rescue Department, in
cooperation with the Eastampton Township Bureau of Fire Prevention and
school administration, presented its annual fire prevention program
in our local schools. The department provides age-appropriate fire
prevention education and demonstrations to Pre-K through Sixth Grade at
the Eastampton Elementary and Middle Schools and the Timothy Christian
Academy. Each year, department volunteers take time off from their jobs
to participate in this very important program.

|
On September 1, 2006, the Eastampton Emergency Squad, the department's
EMS provider, launched its first nighttime duty crew program. Squad
members volunteer for one or two shifts per week to provide coverage
between the hours of 7 pm and 4 am. The department hopes to expand this
program to include weekends as more members are added. The duty crew
program insures that an ambulance responds while only alerting the
volunteers on duty. This provides a more predictable and efficient
response. Anyone interested in joining the department and serving on an
EMS duty crew should contact EMS Chief
Shelly
Augustino.

On July 17, 2006, all fire and rescue operations were consolidated into
the fire station on Smithville Road. The emergency squad provides
emergency medical services from its building on Woodlane Road.

The Merger is Complete
The Eastampon Fire Rescue Department is now complete!!! As of January 1, 2006, both of the district's fire companies and the emergency squad are now
one Department. At a special meeting held on December 28th,
2005, for the first time in the history of any of these organizations, the officers from each organization met together to discuss the plans for the newly merged department and how to best work together to provide the members of our community with the best emergency services possible.
